If you want to find one single album I have been hooked onto for the past month the perfectly delicate orchestrated ambiance works of the Bersarin Quartett. Often it is presented in simplicity, but with all the extra sound effects, it makes it feel like an album from mars took over a classical album. The second song “Geschichten von Interesse” is very addicting factoring it seems reminiscent of the Disintegration Loops by William Basinski.
But it has far more sense of development and change and yet even with the minimalism it comes off as being full sounding and filling. This album probably isn’t for everyone, but it can also be the perfect music to work to and not be too distracted, or fall asleep.
If it isn’t for the weekly addiction for finding more jazz or just enjoyable music overall from classic famous composers and musicians, Crystal Silence from Chick Corea and Gary Burton probably leads for amazing material to sample from if you must but those piano skills and vibraphone skills are just stupendous and crazy amazing hall reverb where they recorded this at.
For something outside of the jazz realm, and more ambient I have a track fromfuyuru0 (Unfortunately this track was removed).
And if that isn’t up to your tastes, I have a track I slyly pushed on soundcloud 2 weeks ago more on the jazzy triphop side, but it was mostly a demo piece as it needs alot of work to be the finished version, but I am pretty sure with the unfortunate push on Avid’s side with ProTools going back to it’s old shitty methods and following adobe’s shitty model for monthly payments to even get updates has left PT in the dirt digging it’s own grave now, so I am making the switch over to Cubase now since that feels by far the most familiar and who would have guessed, but works perfectly with all of my midi/usb controllers excluding the two shitty nano’s from korg where korg is quite shitty and won’t update drivers for windows 8. Expect a post in the future further detailing the switch.
I blame DJ Premier’s billions of mixtapes for getting hooked on this track this week. Jean Grae’s nice clean flow across the tracks and all the puns across the track, it really runs like one crazy tongue twister. And the backup vocals are mixed in so cleanly with the beat and the piano hits.
Jean Grae has this solo track by the name of My Story which sounds like it could have fit perfectly into a Nujabes or Hydeout Productions or J Dilla album:
This is one of those must checkout artists and tracks because the guitar beat works perfectly with the lyrics and the flow of L A M O N T. Definitely the hit track this week across my Soundcloud dashboard shared from RachardTheLocal another glorious rapper who did an EP with Aru. I can only expect more amazing tracks in the future from lamont
Coldcut’s Timber is almost entirely what got me into electronic music originally, not Daft Punk with electronic stuff, but the crazy cut up video that was done for this and I originally only heard of it in a mixtape. Honestly without Timber, I would probably be creating metal or punk rock jazz music rather then the electronic fusion stuff. Factoring that Coldcut’s release today of a mixtape for Solid Steel, I had to go about sharing the mix.
Ultimately if you pickout a lot of what I’ve shared so far as far as mixtapes go it’s often hiphop or jazz oriented or very heavy dance-ish stuff, often from Solid Steel, arguably my favorite weekly series of mixtapes whether that is in video or just audio form, sort of the perfect thing to throw on for pumping up a party or waking up in the morning if you’re over here on the west coast of the states.
