Calm – From My Window

For those of you jazzy mellow triphop/hiphop or peaceful ambient fans, Calm has released a new album called From My Window full of electro fusion jazzy mellow and peaceful enough to fill out this year of bad and boring releases otherwise.

Right now you can listen to parts of it that are avaliable on mixcloud for free:

Calm “from my window” (MUCOCD-027) – Focus Point Listening by Farr_Calm on Mixcloud

Calms group this time around includes the Moonage Electric and Acoustic Ensemble which perfectly fills out the nice blue jazz from the hard synth heavy ambience, almost like a surfing waves sound or something from The Planes series from Dexter Wansel

Be sure to check out this Calm album ‘From My Window’ as it’s the first in 5 years and feels like a nice medium between Haruka Nakamura and Uyama Hiroto but still unique too.

Check out the latest album released by good friend Blingley called “impeRfeCtions”, a soul filled distorted electronic triphop album:

Expect a proper Rekapper review coming soon.  Also I have a cool noisecore remix on the album :D.

Andreya Triana – Giants: A Rekapper Review

Andreya Triana’s latest album Giants, while I wouldn’t say it’s a step up from Lost Where I Belong, probably because Lost was produced by Flying Lotus and Bonobo, but it’s more of a dream pop meets RnB.  I’d say the title track Giants is probably where the album should have started, because the rest of the music following on this album is quite melodic yet peaceful, sort of reminiscent of classic Beck sound, if he could sing like a great jazz singer from the 70’s.  Keep Running, track 7, really shows the advantage of the up tempo pace with Andreya’s mid heavy range as it’s quite the motivating track.  Tracks like Song For a Friend really showcase what is missing from the album, where easily a large chorus could fill up the song gloriously but this comes off being quite boring because it’s too tame.

Overall a 6/10 album, primarily as for being far too safe and tame of an album and not outreaching in range or production.

New Rekapper Tech and Review site in works & Several New Singles – More News Coming Soon

I am currently working on two new websites, one which will be tech / tech news / tech review oriented website:, and the other being a album and game review oriented website.  More news will come soon about the location of these sites and how I will tie it into the Rekapper (network) but I will probably write about in more depth on the tech site.  But as visible now all of the current Rekapper and The Hai sites are more dynamic and responsive then ever before mostly due to the help of moving from one server platform to another with a smooth transition and also due to a redesign like the recent mobile first Rekapper Studios site (which still needs a full width media query but that will arrive soon, factoring the primary visitors were mobile users in the first place).

As far as new music goes, I’ve been working on several singles that will hopefully be released throughout the rest of this year, maybe as an ep, but they are primarily in their starting phase right now as I am quite busy trying to locate both an internship/job and dealing with a final quarter of primarily 400 level classes.
